National Weather Service forecasters are expecting unusually heavy snowfall in the central Puget Sound lowlands on Wednesday, when warm, moisture-laden air flows over the top of a layer of cold air blanketing the region.
The Seattle office of the National Weather Service on Monday night said the snowfall “amount should be impressive,” with a couple of inches falling Tuesday night, along with another four to six inches during the day Wednesday. A snowstorm of this magnitude would disrupt commuter and freight traffic, making it difficult for companies to conduct business.
