Higher prices for housing and gasoline helped push the inflation rate in the Seattle area substantially higher than the national rate in June, The Seattle Times reported Wednesday, based on a Bureau of Labor Statistics report.
The bureau report said prices in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bremerton area were up 2.7 percent in June from the previous year, compared with 1.7 percent nationally. That trend of outpacing national results is expected to continue until at least 2015, according to the Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council, the newspaper said.
