Private Companies: Windermere’s 2nd generation steers firm through housing crisis – Puget Sound Business Journal

Founded 40 years ago by John Jacobi, Windermere Real Estate has grown into a half-billion-dollar business with more than 7,000 agents selling homes in the Western United States. Management of the family business is now in the hands of a second generation, a close-knit triumvirate that has steered the residential real estate firm through the worst housing market since the Depression.

John Jacobi’s son, O.B. Jacobi, is president of the Windermere Real Estate Co., overseeing 300 agents in the six offices owned by the family and helping guide the firm’s business strategy. His sister, Jill Jacobi Wood, is president of the Windermere Services Co. and Client Services, helping more than 110 Windermere franchisees manage their offices. Her husband, Geoff Wood, is CEO of Windermere Services Co. and has overseen Windermere’s expansion beyond Washington into six additional Western states.
